Our story
Fireside began in November 2006 as a restart of Kiefer Assembly of God—but from the very beginning, it was more than a restart. It was a calling.
Pastors Randy and Sherry Jackson, along with their family, were sent out from Carbondale Assembly of God, where Pastor Phil Taylor prayed over them and spoke words that would define the journey ahead: “I hear the Holy Spirit saying, 'Get ’er done'.”
And that’s exactly what God has helped us do.
We started with a handful of people in a mobile chapel. From there we moved into the Kiefer School gymnasium, then into the newly built Kiefer City Hall. In 2012, we broke ground and built what is now our Kiefer campus—a place that has become home for so many.
Through every season, one thing has remained the same—“We’re following Jesus… and by His grace, we’re still getting ’er done.”

In 2026, we are stepping into a new season:
One Church. Two Communities. Expanding the Mix.
Kiefer is our foundation—a place of strength, growth, and deep roots.
Mounds is our expansion—a place for new stories, new relationships, and more lives to be reached.
We’re not becoming two separate churches.
We’re one church, with one mission, moving into more places so more people can experience the life-changing power of Jesus.
Same fire. Same heart. Same mission. More lives.
